Draft — professional review required

Copyright and User-Upload Policy

Responsibilities and reporting for uploaded or community audio.

Effective date
July 21, 2026
Status
Pre-launch draft
This document is a working draft, not legal advice or a guarantee of compliance. Obtain qualified legal review before launch.

Purpose and draft status

This draft explains SoundSend’s intended approach to copyright and user-uploaded audio. It is not a statement that a statutory notice-and-takedown framework, designated agent, or counter-notice process has been completed. Legal review and operational setup are required before public community uploads launch.

Upload only what you may use

You are responsible for the audio and metadata you upload, send, or publish. Uploading a sound to a private library does not eliminate the need for permission, and private storage does not grant a right to distribute the sound to others.

Reporting allegedly infringing content

If you believe a public SoundSend upload infringes your copyright, send a report to [email protected].

A useful report should include the information below so SoundSend can locate and assess the content. SoundSend may request clarification before acting.

  • Your name and reliable contact information.
  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  • The SoundSend URL, content identifier, creator name, screenshot, or other information sufficient to locate the reported upload.
  • A short explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorized.
  • A statement that the information in your report is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for the rights holder.
  • Your physical or electronic signature, if required for the process being used.

SoundSend’s response

SoundSend may review the report, contact the uploader, restrict access, remove content, preserve relevant records, or take account action. The response will depend on the information available, applicable law, and the operational process in place at the time.

SoundSend may reject abusive, fraudulent, materially incomplete, or unrelated reports. Repeated infringement may lead to account restrictions or termination under a repeat-infringer policy that must be finalized before community launch.

Uploader disputes and restoration requests

An uploader who believes content was removed by mistake may contact [email protected] with the content identifier, an explanation, and supporting rights information. SoundSend will not promise restoration, a statutory counter-notice process, or a response deadline unless the required legal and operational procedures have been configured.

Private content

Private uploads are not intended to appear in community discovery. SoundSend may still respond to valid legal demands, security issues, or reports involving content delivered through a SoundSend-controlled sharing flow, consistent with the final Privacy Policy and applicable law.
